Atu Falevai

Academic Support Advisor

I graduated from Brigham Young University-Hawaii and now am attending BYU for a Master’s of Social Work. I served my mission in Brisbane, Australia. I started college planning doctor and then changed to social work. While in Hawaii, I was a high school substitute teacher, a Resident Advisor, a member of the Social Work Student Association, and a performer at the Polynesian Cultural Center. In Utah, I have facilitated support groups for children of substance abuse and domestic violence families through Utah Division of Child and Family Services.

I love working as an advisor because I enjoy helping students explore and plan for possible future careers. I love being a peer mentor in helping students transition to adulthood while navigating student life.
